List of Bugs Fixed in SQL Server 2014 CU5 – Part 5

With every release of SQL Server product or subsequent service packs or Cumulative updates, new bugs are encountered or discovered. Below are some of the bugs which were fixed with the release of Cumulative update package (CU) 5 for Microsoft SQL Server 2014.

The Edit Top N rows shortcut menu option is enabled (right-click on Table and select Edit Top N Rows) for opening the Visual Database Tools with N rows populated. SQL service

The Select Top N rows shortcut menu option (right-click a table or a view and select Select Top N Rows) is enabled for generating a script that will select the top N rows from a table or a view. SQL service
MSDN Support KB Article 3548929
The Property shortcut menu option for tables (right-click Table node and select Properties) on Azure databases is enabled. SQL service

The following nodes to Object Explorer for features are added in the latest version of Azure SQL Database:

Assemblies (Database node -> Programmability)
Rules (Database node -> Programmability)
Defaults (Database node -> Programmability)

Sequences (Database node -> Programmability)
Aggregate Functions (Database node -> Functions)
Application Roles (Database node -> Security -> Roles)
User-defined Object Types (CLR Types) (Database node -> Programmability -> Types)
XML Schema Collections (Database node -> Programmability -> Types)

The Column and Index subfolders under the Table and View nodes are added. SQL service

The Modify and Execute Stored Procedure shortcut menu options (right-click a stored procedure) when it is connected to the latest version of Azure SQL Database are enabled. SQL service

Both the Federation and Management nodes from Object Explorer when connected to the latest version of Azure SQL Database are removed. When they are connected to an Azure v. Current server only the management node is removed (Federations are still valid on Azure v.Current). SQL service
